Table Tekk
Table Tekk is a futuristic “miniature” style game that
involved all our Person versus Person (PvP) combat. The is the first PvP game where our Overseer
actually gets to be an active participant in the battles. The Overseer will present a scenario and objectives
and then will get to play along in the game with the additional responsibility
that all the game rules are observed by all players. A typical game of Table Tekk is not limited
in the number of players as it is a fast paced PvP combat system that cycles
through turns quickly so that no player is made to wait long to perform their
actions.
In Table Tekk the Overseer will present a space-based
scenario upon a table. You can get quite
creative if you wish to have custom markers for planets, suns, black holes,
pulsars, asteroids, wormholes, mines and or missiles. When we play, we typically use dice to
represent each of these objects since they are plentiful for us. When using dice we use the following
designations; d20 for planets, d30 for suns, d30 for black holes, d30 for
pulsars, d12 for asteroids, d30 for nebulas, d30 for wormholes, d6 for mines,
and d4 for missiles.
Each player will also select a ship for their personal
marker. Ships can be from any model or
collection that you may have. We
typically have Micromachines, Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, Alien, Starship
Trooper or Space Explorer models that are die cast or 3D printed that can be
obtained from various major retailers.
You can also find used ship models at flea markets, discount stores and
various online shopping sites which are generally a bit cheaper in cost. In addition to a ship to be used as a marker
each player will have a ship profile sheet provided in our book that will keep
track of your ship’s stats, offensive capabilities, defensive capabilities and be
a record for points achieved through objectives if more than two players
survive the encounter and any damage you’ve received during the course of PvP
combat. Each player will also need a standard
8-sided die or d8 and a ruler or tape measure.
The size of your ship will determine how many moves you have
per turn, fighters, shuttles, blackfly and freighters would get two movements
or weapons fire per turn as an example. The player can choose to use those moves in
any way they choose such as spending all moves for movement, all moves for
weapons fire if an enemy is within range, or any combination of movement and
weapons fire but can not exceed the number of moves per ship type.
